I’m very thankful to the KVW for the opportunity to share my thoughts on living abroad, being a scientist and on current socio-political developments in South Tyrol.
The article I’ve written together with my former Max Planck colleague, Dr. Laura Dobusch, has now been published by the Zeitschrift für Führung und Personalmanagement in der Gesundheitswirtschaft.
Our paper talks about the challenges posed to health care systems by migratory movements and increasingly diverse societies, and looks at how diversity management practices may be helpful in dealing with these issues. The full issue of the ZFPG can be found here.
I’m very happy to announce that my paper “A Common Commitment: Civil Society and European Solidarity in the ‘Refugee Crisis'” has just been published in a volume edited by Timofey Agarin and Nevena Nancheva titled A European Crisis: Perspectives on Refugees, Solidarity and Europe (Ibidem Press, 2018).
The book analyzes the links between refugee migration and the perception of Europe in crisis, by looking at the construction of crisis narratives and the erosion of European core-concepts like solidarity. The Neue Südtiroler Tageszeitung recently featured me in a portrait series called Südtiroler in der Welt – South Tyroleans in the World.

Politika 2015, the scientific yearbook on South Tyrolean politics, is now available via Nomos and Edition Raetia.
It focuses on the development of the South Tyrol autonomy regarding various topics; my contribution addresses the impact of Europeanization on European minorities, granting special attention to how such processes may impact the situation in South Tyrol and the planned ‘Autonomy Convent’.
